Thyroid Awareness Month Blog Hop

Hello everyone!!!
I haven't been blogging lately (or better to say for a long time), but I hope you have followed me on Instagram and Facebook.
However, there is a special reason why I decided to give this little blog of mine so much needed love and tenderness....
My crafty friend Milka has invited me to join her and other designers in sharing knowledge about thyroid. January is well known as Thyroid Awereness Month, so Milka has gathered 26 Designers from all over the World  to join in this special Blog Hop, which lasts 26 days, from January 5th until January 30th. The aim of the hop is to support Thyroid Awareness Month and to raise public awareness of the importance of a Thyroid Gland and problems it can cause when not working properly. I am so grateful to Milka for the invitation and please visit Milka’s Blog for the blog hop details and prizes.
As I said, theme of our blog hop is THYROID. We are all sharing our handmade projects featuring butterfly, butterflies and/or blue paisley pattern. Thyroid looks like butterfly and blue paisley patterned ribbon is a new symbol of Thyroid Awareness month, so it was up top us to decide how to incorporate these elements in our handmade projects.

For my part, I have decided to make a card using my favourite die - scalloped card pop up by Lawn Fawn and my butterfly Sizzix die along which I glued with some acetate tape to make them fly and then the card is decorated with some patterned paper that are very much similar to blue paisley, this I used on the outside of the card and the paper with beautiful flowers are placed on the front along with the sentiment from Mama Elephant's Dandelion Wishes set. It is a simple, yet I believe appropriate card for the theme of this blog hop.

Please make sure you visit each of these talented ladies:

January blues and babies and pink

Hi everyone, hope you are all staying somewhere nice and warm. Here in Croatia we have very low temperatures and bit of snow now turned into dangerous ice on the sidewalks, but the scene is mostly white and gray ... perfect for experiencing January blues after all the festivities and happiness in December..Have you noticed how winter is completely different when you look at it through "glasses holiday" in December? You can not wait to have white Christmas, now in January you just wish it is not your turn to clean the driveway or entrance into the building you live :)
Well, January blues and gray scene around me outside, combined with my friend becoming an aunt for the first time made me wish to create something  cheerful and happy for our weekly challenge called  pretty pink and girlie  at  craftingbydesigns  and pink is a happy color and also the best things in life are free, which in this case is so true and you can not manufacture happiness in some factory, you can feel it inside yourself and those around you are there I felt her happiness and I used my lovely mother Elephant and stamps dies set  Carnival cupcakes  and some sweet polka dot pink background from this set and just added this cute sentiment by Crafting Desert Divas (set is called  Baked with love ) which you have to agree is completely appropriate .. and voila ... simple, sweet gesture for my dear friend who loves my cards so much ... just so you know, dear Ana, I already know you as one of the best Mamas out there, now show us how you rock at being an Aunty :)

Hope you join us at our new challenge, find inspiration in any pink flower, dress or thing around you
Happy crafting ...
Love,
Majtolina

Happy NEW Year!

Happy New Year! Hope this year brings you nothing but joy and happiness!

Long time no writing...Last two months were a blur of being in full holiday mood....I made a lot of Christmas cards for my friends and had great time watching my daughter in her Christmas plays and going to office parties and spending time with my family.

Since January starts with several birthdays of close friends and since Santa was so good to me this year, I used my new We R Memory Keepers Fuse tool to make this birthday card for my dear friend:

I used Little You Paper Pack which I bought several months ago and sequins given to me by my dear friend Irena. The butterfly embellishment was a part of the gift package and I took it to use it to emphasise the beauty of paper and sequins. I thought it would be enough not to spoil lovely patterns of paper.

Hope you like it and I hope you can join us in Anything Goes Challenge at Crafting by Design

Here is my card:

TGIF!

Hello world,

TGIF! It was one hard week for me, so I am really looking forward to some crafting and family time!
I am really happy that many of you liked my entry for our Get Ready For Christmas challenge at craftingbydesigns and I am surely obsessed with Mama Elephant Charmed set and will surely use it more often than neccessary :)
Here it is one more time:

It was easy to make when you have such a great set to work with, which I bought recently and just colored it. The dots are from Create A Smile site, I won them last year and am now ready to use them :)

But this card which I am going to show you now is also made with a very cool set from Jane's Doodles called Simon...I have already used him as a Santa and this time I played that card again...Adding a bit of Lawn Fawn sentiments which I combined with Jane's Doodles I created a new Simon plays Santa card...It reminds me of the sea and my hometown and I would like to present this card in the challenges:

Hello October

And just like that, with a summer hot sunny August and September turned slowly into a gloomy and windy October..I forgot I even had to blog :( (shame on me), but I was active on Facebook and Instagram and made some sweet cards for family and friends. Check them out:

My little family loves September because our third member, cute and stubborn little Stella celebrated her 6th Bday on September 11th. Her mother (the world's worst copper) even made a cake :) And it was eatable, too ... She had a great week and celebrated several times and got lots of gifts and was super happy and that's what is important, right .. .

And now to October .... At Crafting By Designs  we have prepared several new challenges and as usual we start with our favorite Anything Goes Challenges and we have several prizes for you, so go be creative and win cool stuff .... My entry is very much dedicated to a girl who has her birthday on Halloween and I combined my Crafting Desert Divas Fright Night Set  to create Halloween Bday :)

I am still learning to use my Zig Real Brush markers and I just did some basic watercoloring several times before deciding that last version would do and some black ink splashed afterwards, fussy cut the cat and sweets and basically applied it with mount tape onto the dry watercolor background. Hope my friend likes her Halloween Birthday card ...

Christmas in July

Dear friends, while I am preparing to get ready for my summer holidays, I am leaving you with several cards made for my great friends at Crafting By Design.
I have to admit it was a bit strange pulling out my Christmas stamps and make something a little bit different for our week challenge, but I have enjoyed making this card and I hope you like it. Simon Says Stamp always make nice cards and it is really easy to create fun and versatile things with them. So this is my July Christmas card:

fotografija.JPG

It was actually rather easy to make, I just did the background using Zig Clean Real Brush, then die cut it with MFT Blueprint 27 die border and then just stamped and died all the fun images from  this set: Simon-Says-Clear-Stamps-BUILD-A-SNOWMAN. Finally I used Glossy Accents and voila :) simple card is here...

So next time we read I will probably be somewhere soaking up the Sun and enjoying my time with my daughter again and relaxing a bit...However my cards will be ready ...and I cannot wait to see your comments here :)

Take care, Majtolina xxxx

Clean and simple Bday card

June is almost over and I really enjoyed my holiday spent back home with my parents. I was born in Sibenik and it has always been known for its International Children's Festival, so we came just in time for its opening and enjoyed many shows around the town's squares. Stella is still in Sibenik and is now part of a children's art workshop which makes her very happy, she loves drawing ... Some photos of the Festival's atmosphere are below, we enjoyed seeing many street performers and I am in awe how dedicated and skilled they all are

Back to usual, for our monthly Anything Goes challenge over at  craftingbydesigns.blogspot.hr/2016/06/july-anything-goes.html  I have given my version of clean and simple card made for my dear friend Ana's Bday. I just went as simple as I could .... stamping a sentiment given to me by my dear pal Tracie craft with SSS White pigment Ink on a craft paper, then used Zig clean brush to add some color to the sentiment, die cutting butterflies from Sizzix Starter Kit and then placing several sequins all over the the card ... Simple yet beautiful, at least to me ...;)
